To Exercise or Not I have always been lucky that I have enjoyed sports my whole life. I know that isn't
going to endear me to anyone who, like my sisters and mother have rarely thought about movement as entertainment or fun.
I do know where those of you are coming from. I even have trouble getting motivated to do things sometimes.
Lets take a look at all the things that require movement in our daily lives. Having to go up and down stairs
at work or at home. Vacuuming and cleaning the house or car. Taking care of children. Now that takes a lot
of energy. And that is the point. We need to spend more energy in a day. I know it gets harder and harder
with all our wonderful remote controls, our power this and our power that. So, we have to look elsewhere to move our
bodies more.
No, it doesn't mean we need to all go out and join a gym, so we can pay, pay, pay and show up only
for the first month. Most movement or exercise that we need, especially to start doesn't involve such drastic measures.
Small things like parking farther away from the store or office and walking the rest of the way. Or taking
a walk at lunch instead of sitting around a table talking about things. (That only moves your mouth). I know there
is this 10,000 step per day thing going on, but lets face it, that even intimidates me. Just walk....... and the more
you walk the more you will feel like walking. That is enough for a month.
You need to integrate small
changes into your life over a long period of time for them to become permanent. THIS MONTH JUST WALK MORE....... THAT'S
IS ENOUGH, JUST DO IT.
